Medications
We do not charge to administer most medications to our guests. A $5 fee per day will be added should the medication(s) be difficult to administer or there are multiple medications or supplements being sent. Medications should be limited to those that a pet owner would normally do themselves (ie-topical or oral applications).
New policies have been put in place as of March 1st, 2025 for the health and safety of those guests staying with us that require medications:
Any and all medications MUST be communicated to a team leader minimum 48hrs prior to the pet checking into the facility. If there has been a change in your pets' medications since their last visit we ask that you update the changes with us 48hrs prior to their next visit with us.
Email [email protected] or call 250-861-5155 to go over the details of your pets' medications or supplements.
Calling or emailing our team in advance to your boarding reservation is very important to ensure that we are able to accommodate the medication routine for your pet during their stay with us in advance. When your pet arrives, our team leader will create a medication log that is signed for each dose that is given to your pet.
We ask that medications come in with the original packaging from the veterinarian and proper dosage is on the packaging.
We are unable to take any medications that have been pre-made into pill pockets as they can dissolve the pills and inconsistent dosages are possible. We are also unable to accept medications that come in ziplock baggies or are in packaging that is not original packaging from your veterinarian.
We pride ourselves on our organization for our guests and it is imperative that we have the correct information in order to successfully manage your pets' medications during their stay with us.
*We are unable to accept guests requiring insulin or any injection medications.
*Medications must be given between our staffed times of 7am-7pm daily.
Any medications outside of those times will not be accommodated and will need to be altered.
*Kelowna Pet Resort assumes no responsibility for incorrect dosage, or any complications caused by treatment.
